- Price visibility: No fixed nightly rate appears on the official pages checked; one starting price for a September 2026 stay was $226 including taxes and fees for two adults.
What are people saying about the Grand Princess Riviera hotel?
The listing gives you the most complete photo-first evidence base: 16,996 traveler photos and 13,384 reviews, with an average rating of 4.0 out of 5 at retrieval. Another platform tells a slightly different story, showing 8.1 out of 10 from 788 reviews, including category scores of 8.6 for cleanliness, 8.6 for comfort, and 8.5 for facilities.
“Clean rooms and lively atmosphere, with well-maintained grounds and engaging evening entertainment.”
Aggregated review summary
Hotel Grand Riviera Princess photo reviews
Those photo counts matter because they let you compare multiple angles of the same area. The practical approach is to filter the gallery by category names you see in the listing, such as Platinum Suites or Laguna Villa Suites, then cross-check the dates on the images against the official renovation note.
Photo caveat: We could not verify image-by-image capture dates in the 16,996-photo gallery. Use the platform’s date and caption filters where available, and treat older images as pre-renovation evidence.
Grand Riviera Princess reviews
The same listing ranks the property 114th out of 308 hotels in Playa del Carmen, a mid-list position that makes sense for a complex this large. The aggregated review language mentions clean rooms, well-maintained grounds, and evening entertainment alongside some reports of inconsistent service and maintenance, particularly at reception.
The bottom line: the photo and review volume is real, but the platforms do not fully agree. Weigh the low Wi-Fi score of 6.5 and the reception complaints against the high cleanliness and comfort scores.
How many rooms does the Grand Riviera Princess have?
There are 674 fully equipped rooms, with categories that include Junior Suites, Junior Suite Deluxe, Platinum Suites, and Laguna Villa Suites. The resort describes the property as a five-star, beachfront resort and says Cancún and the archaeological site of Tulum are each about 65 km away.
“The Grand Riviera Princess is a 5-star hotel in Riviera Maya with one of the best beachfront locations in the area.”

For orientation, the listed address is Prolongación 5ta Avenida, Mza 20 Lote 006, Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo, 77710, Mexico. The resort is about 10 minutes from Playa del Carmen and roughly 40 minutes from the airport.
Grand Riviera Princess renovation
The property has been “completely renovated since May 16,” but the year is not shown in the retrieved text. That missing year is a genuine complication when you are looking at older traveler photos.
“Completely renovated since May 16”
Official facilities page
Watch the pool count. Official pages list 10 pools, while the hotel homepage says 16 pools and separately describes 12 pools as eight main adult pools and four children’s pools. Until the hotel confirms a single number, treat any pool count in marketing material as approximate.
The pattern: the 674-room count is stable, but the exact pool count and renovation date are not. Let that determine how much weight you give to specific property photos.
What are the benefits of staying at Riviera Resort?
The main benefit of this property is scale. The property features 12 restaurants, 12 bars, one water park, a gym, a nightclub, a games room, a children’s club for ages 4 to 12, meeting rooms, shops, a medical centre, a business centre, and a spa. Additionally, free breakfast and free water-park access are among the amenities.
Grand Riviera Princess restaurants
Restaurant hours are published: breakfast is listed from 7:00 to 11:00, lunch from 12:00 to 15:45 for at least one restaurant, and dinner windows start at 18:00 or 18:30 depending on the restaurant. The Fantasy Pool Bar and Tequila Bar are both listed as operating from 10:00 to 18:00.
Grand Riviera Princess prices
No fixed nightly rate appears on the official pages we reviewed. What we do have is a date-specific display: $226 including taxes and fees for one night for two adults on a September 28, 2026 stay, checked on September 27, 2026. That is a starting price, not a guaranteed rate for every travel date.
The trade-off: you get an extensive all-inclusive amenity package and a relatively low starting price for a beachfront property, but you are also buying into a complex where Wi-Fi scores 6.5 and service reports are mixed. If you are comparing resorts in the same region, this Viva Maya by Wyndham review gives you another Riviera Maya all-inclusive benchmark.
What is the preferred view at Riviera?
If the view is your priority, the named category to search for is Laguna Villa Suites, the only suite type in the listing that references a landscape feature. Official pages refer to exclusive pool areas for Family Club, Platinum, and Villa sections, which suggests those corners of the complex are marketed as calmer than the main pool area.
Grand Riviera Princess photos reddit
A related search term for “Grand Riviera Princess photos reddit” shows that some travelers look for candid community images, but our research did not retrieve a verified, property-specific Reddit thread about this resort. Use the 16,996-photo gallery instead, and sort for recent uploads before drawing conclusions.
Hotel Grand Sunset Princess photos
The related photo search for “Hotel Grand Sunset Princess photos” points to a neighboring property with a similar name. We have no verified data on that property in this report, so apply the same method there: compare official pages, current guest photos, review counts, and any stated renovation status before booking. For a different Mexican coastline, this Hard Rock Hotel Los Cabos review covers another large-scale all-inclusive option.
What this means: the most useful guest evidence is online, not in social threads. Look for the Laguna Villa and Platinum categories in the photo gallery if you want the quieter, more view-oriented corners of the resort.

- Official pages list conflicting pool counts: 10, 12, and 16.

Best for
- Families with children aged 4 to 12: the official facility list includes a children’s club, a water park, and children’s pools.
- Photo researchers: 16,996 traveler photos give you a broader cross-section of rooms, pools, grounds, and restaurants than most comparable listings.
- Value-conscious all-inclusive groups: the all-inclusive scope includes 12 restaurants and 12 bars, with free breakfast and water-park access.
- Wedding venue researchers: the resort has meeting rooms, a spa, beachfront access, and group-scale dining, but the sources we reviewed do not disclose current wedding package details, so confirm event services directly with the hotel.
Related property to compare
If you are also looking at Hotel Grand Sunset Princess photos, treat that name as a separate property with its own official pages and review history. We could not verify its current room count, amenities, or photo library from the inputs used here, so the same checklist applies: count the rooms, check the review volume, and filter photos by date before you compare it with Grand Riviera Princess.
Our pick for photo-first research
Grand Riviera Princess is the practical pick for travelers who want the widest visual evidence base before booking. The combination of 16,996 traveler photos, 13,384 reviews, and an independent score of 8.1 out of 10 gives you more cross-checks than most all-inclusive listings. The fine print is simple: verify the current pool count, confirm the renovation year, and treat any pre-renovation photo as historical context.
